Beneficial for the short tense neck without causing the horse to lean. Reinforces the turning aid. The 12mm bradoon with neat 55mm rings is used with the Weymouth or on a small head. Verbindend 9011

Do you need a dressage legal snaffle that offers extra lift and control? The Verbindend greatly emphasises the signals through the rein. It allows you to lighten the forehand, lifting the shoulder thus promoting self carriage & the throughness needed for sustained advanced movements. The Verbindend eradicates tongue evasions by creating a channel for the tongue to lie in causing the horse to soften & relax through the jaw. This mouthpiece also enhances the bend for lateral work & voltes (smaller circles) etc. If you are a pleasure rider and simply need to establish a lighter, softer way of going please do not be put off by this description as this is still the bit for you. No dressage legal snaffle is ever severe – it simply offers fine tuning for the experienced rider who can “play it!” 16mm 70mm rings, 5” – 6” in ¼” increments.

Snaffle 8022

A gentle training tool with a bit of extra help. When a contact is taken, the angled Tranz lozenge rolls down onto the centre of the tongue (the sweet spot) enhancing feel & responsiveness thus a higher level of communication through the rein is achieved. The arms are slightly curved and the profiles of the arms are chamfered creating an oval shape. This oval design takes up less room between the tongue & the upper palate but retains the same weight bearing surface from the horse’s perspective as a circular, therefore thicker mouthpiece. The 14mm bradoon with neat 55mm rings is used with the Weymouth or on a small head. 14mm Choice of 55mm (bradoon) or 70mm (snaffle) rings, Option, 5” - 6” in ¼” increments, 8022G – New Gold Ring

Eggbutt 8023E

Need to promote a true consistent contact? If your horse is tentative into the contact (inconsistent), the NS Eggbutt offers the stability within the mouth needed to boost the horse’s confidence causing it to seek the bit taking the rein forwards. Very beneficial for short tense necks. Also excellent for directional control. Unlike traditional eggbutts, feel and response is not lost i.e. the horse will not fix against the hand. 16mm, 5” to 6” in ¼” increments.

Waterford 8029L

Need a lighter forehand? Heavy on the forehand or possibly inclined to snatch and pull you out of the saddle? Help is at hand and owing to the fact that the Waterford bends in every direction it does usually suit all types of mouth conformation including big fat tongues. 14mm, 5 ¼”, 5 ½”, 6”

Jumpers

Elevator 8023NS

Helps sit them on their hocks and turn tight – a showjumping favourite!! Designed for extra control, outline and much more help with straightness and turning. Often the answer for the very enthusiastic horse with a sensitive mouth that may even be prone to rubs, chafing etc. Has three rein options including using Pelham roundings between the mid and bottom ring. 16mm, 5” – 5 ¾” in ¼” increments.

Waterford 8029NS

Bauchers Hanging Cheeks

Baucher 8022B

Does your horse hollow & poke his nose? This will help obtain a rounder outline. If your horse is constantly resisting and coming above the bit the action of the NS Baucher shows him the way down by employing mild poll pressure. Simultaneously the mouthpiece lifts up within the mouth taking pressure of the tongue and bars. In essence our head lowering aids are clear and we have made the mouthpiece so comfortable that once achieved, a consistently correct contact and outline is sustainable. The 14mm normally offers extra lift and obviously takes up less room in the mouth than the 16mm. 14mm, 5” – 5 ¾” in ¼” increments.

Baucher 8028B

A Bit of Magic. Is your horse strung out, wooden and sometimes ignores your requests for outline and self-carriage? This mild lever action could be the key. 14mm, 5”, 5 ½”, 6” increments.

Pelham

Pelham 80237P

Very beneficial for horses that lean in a standard pelham. New lightweight, elegant cheek design. Very popular in the show ring incorporating the NS Tranz Angled Lozenge mouthpiece. This Pelham is designed to be comfortable promoting a round outline and lift up from the shoulder. Often sourced for control and self-carriage, this Pelham usually gives more feel and response as opposed to a standard solid mouthpiece that often encourages fixing and blocking culminating in a “wooden” feel. 16mm, 5” – 5 ¾” in ¼” increments.

Pelham 8015SP

Very popular on show cobs that set, lean and go!! The only Pelham to remove poll pressure and increase curb action. This clever design is brilliant to combat strong rude horses and/or those with a tendency to lean/snatch down. Lightness and outline is established and any tendency to overbend is usually eradicated. Many horses do overbend in other pelhams owing to the poll pressure. The tongue bridge arches over the tongue profiling under the upper palate. Excellent for use on a horse that fully understands the aids by a rider with good hands 14mm, 5”, 5 ½”, 6” increments.

Pelham 8029P

Need help in the show ring? This design is very popular in the show ring especially with the cresty necked show cobs. It almost invariably gives the desired control, lifts the shoulder and softens the neck for flexion and bend. Incorporates our new elegant cheek design. 14mm, 5” – 6” in ¼” increments.

Bevals & Universals

Universal 8023U

Control without severity, a Handy Piece of Kit!!!! The NS Universal offers control without discomfort or severity. It is brilliant for faster work such as jumping etc as you can turn much more easily and it generally eliminates the head toss when asking for a downward transition, for instance, shortening before a fence. If you need to upgrade from a snaffle, it is highly recommended as you are staying with a mild mouthpiece but subtly employing other pressure points. 16mm with optional black or Havana leather curb strap, 5” - 6” in ¼” increments.

Beval 8022Bev

Very popular in the show ring – Need more control than an ordinary snaffle? The NS Beval has a mild lever action. This causes the cheeks to tilt forwards and the mouthpiece to lift up. The horse simultaneously feels the poll pressure and the upward action of the bit within the mouth. It is very effective for horses or ponies that are strung out or poke their nose. It is especially useful for the child or novice rider who does not possess either the technique or the strength in the leg to obtain a nice round outline. 55mm ring, 5” – 5 ½” in ¼” increments.

Helps tremendously with outline. 14mm with optional black or Havana leather curb strap, 5 ¼”, 5 ½”, 6” increments.

Full Cheek

Full Cheek 8022FC

Reinforces the turning aid & helps with straightness & direction. The upper cheeks may be fixed to the cheekpieces to exert gentle poll pressure (head lowering). Excellent for directional control. Good for faster work as it will not slide across the mouth when turning, also good for young horses as it will not pull through in a panic situation. This 14mm normally offers extra lift and obviously takes up less room in the mouth than the 16mm 14mm, 5” – 5 ¾” in ¼” increments.

Weymouth

Warmblood 80287F

Don’t loose precious marks through tongue evasions!! New lightweight, elegant cheek design. The forward cut port is very cleverly designed giving generous tongue relief without causing upper palate interference. It is extremely popular with the large tongued KWPN, Hanoverians etc. This design has often proven the panacea to many long term tongue evasions. 14mm, 5” to 5 ¾” in ¼” increments.

Slimma 80157F

Gives a good lifting action without upper palate interference. A very unobtrusive design that sits well back in the mouth over the thicker, less sensitive part of the tongue. The “Slimma” Weymouth is anatomically designed to take up very little room in the mouth bridging the tongue (tongue relief) and contouring snugly under the upper palate leaving much more space for the bradoon – hence a fatter bradoon is an option that may benefit a horse tentative into the contact. 14mm, 5” – 6” in ¼” increments.

Performance Pony
